The X431 PRO Star is a professional diagnostic tool offering a wide range of functions, including OE-level all-systems diagnostics, bi-directional control (active tests), advanced ECU coding, and over 30 maintenance and reset services. It also supports various optional extension modules for expanded capabilities. 

Core Diagnostic Functions

The tool provides comprehensive, manufacturer-level diagnostics for over 99% of vehicles globally. 

• Full System Scan: Scans all available systems (e.g., ECM, TCM, ABS, SRS, BCM, TPMS, etc.) for detailed fault codes and information.

• Read/Clear Codes: Views diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and clears them after repairs are complete.

• Live Data Stream: Monitors real-time data streams from various sensors and components, viewable in both text and graph formats (up to 8-in-1 graphing).

• Bi-directional Control (Active Tests): Sends commands to vehicle ECUs to perform specific component tests (e.g., turning the fuel pump on/off, cycling the A/C clutch, testing injectors, operating windows/mirrors) to quickly locate faults.

• Health Report: Automatically generates a comprehensive vehicle health report with one click, which can be saved, shared, or printed. 

Advanced & Special Functions

The Launch X431 PRO Star includes high-level functions typically found in professional repair shops. 

• ECU Coding (Online & Offline): Matches, learns, or codes newly installed ECUs/modules; updates vehicle software; and enables/disables hidden features (e.g., disabling the seatbelt beep, customizing daytime running lights).

• VAG Guided Functions: Provides step-by-step instructions for performing complex maintenance and coding procedures on Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, and Seat vehicles.

• FCA SGW Access: Allows secure access and diagnostics on equipped Fiat, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, and Dodge vehicles without needing a special bypass cable.

• Key Programming (IMMO Service): Matches new keys to the vehicle's immobilizer system, requiring the optional X-PROG 3 add-on module for advanced functions like reading anti-theft passwords and ECU cloning.
